Very Special Arts Singapore Ltd (VSA) promoted the YFC programme to their volunteers, recruited volunteers who are able to assist their staff to mentor the groups who wish to participate in YFC. 14 proposals supporting VSA were submitted after their Executive Director and staff met up with the groups and out of which, eight were selected for implementation. VSA also actively encouraged their teams to communicate with each other and also look for possible avenues for collaboration.
Upon the announcement of the proposals’ selection, VSA Executive Director and staff met up with the teams to provide advice on the requirements for fund raising, mentored the teams when they faced difficulties, advised them on the feasibilities of the various new alternatives and what VSA can do for them. They also assisted the teams in the area of seeking quotations for products, negotiated the wavering of royalty fees from their artists, promoted the teams’ events on NVPC and SMU websites, and provided promotional flyers for all the teams to use. On top of that, they also rendered support for all the teams’ logistical requirements.
Throughout the project implementation, VSA also helped the teams in various matters such as the administration of the seed money and also the efforts in raising funds. After YFC, the VWO had an evaluation meeting with the participating teams to get feedback on their experiences taking part in YFC. VSA also planned to have a get-together where Certificates of Appreciation will be presented to the teams and their schools. |
