>> about YFC

You get what you give.
In a world where providing for others is often thwarted by our daily obligations, the act of giving is a wonderful assurance to those daunted by everyday difficulties.

If we could, we would do more. Right?

Well, if you have a burning passion to help, here’s your chance. What’s more, you can pick up the relevant skills to support a local social cause that’s close to your heart

Be a Social Entrepreneur
If you have a vivid interest in doing your part for the community; to reach out to the less fortunate; to promote good social moral values, raise awareness of the elderly, children from broken families, disabled persons but have neither the means nor skills to carry it out. Let Citibank-YMCA Youth For Causes (YFC) Programmes fulfill your desire.

Be a Social Entrepreneur! What’s more, you can pick up the relevant skills to support a social cause that is close to your heart! This way, not only will you be helping others but you will also be developing leadership, project management and entrepreneurial skills.

Put together by Citibank and YMCA of Singapore, YFC offers you the platform to turn your idea into reality. And you will not be alone. Mentors from both organisations will be there to guide, help and support you.

There is no limitation to your creativity. Identify a real social need by working with the Non-profit Organisation of your choice and let your imagination run wild. Put your ideas into a proposal to raise funds for that cause and at the same time, raise public awareness of that need.

What is a Social Entrepreneur?
Social Entrepreneurs are the equivalent of true business entrepreneurs but they operate in the social, not-for-profit sector, “building something from nothing” and seeking new and innovative solutions to social problems.

  • They identify unmet social needs and generate solutions based upon a close reading of the views and close reading of the views of those most directly affected.
  • They recognize, encourage and employ skills from different faiths, cultures, traditions and backgrounds bringing them together in view and creative ways to address practical problem.
