What should the business proposal include?

Selection Criteria
Your proposal will be judged on the following criteria and your proposal should seek to explain clearly how you meet these criteria.

  • Aims and benefits of project
  • Creativity and Innovation of ideas
  • Feasibility of project
  • Planning of the implementation & execution
  • How the public will be educated on social causes
  • How volunteers are mobilized, recruited & involved.
  • How the financial target is set and achieved

Proposal Format
Your proposal will be submitted to us via an online form and you should keep your content limited to the character range that is indicated above under ”Proposal Contents”.
Total length of proposal should not exceed 2 pages.

Teams are only allowed 2 additional attachments that are:

  1. Project Timeline & Plan
  2. Project Financial Budget

Your project proposal must include these contents:

  1. Team Details:

  2. Project Proposal:
    a. Executive Summary (field text of 1500 characters)
          An executive summary is short paragraph that summarizes your proposal in a way that readers            can quickly become acquainted with a large body of material without having to read it all. It should      include very quickly, the cause you are supporting, the needs the project is addressing and how         the project will meet the need.
    b. Aims and Benefits of Project (field text of 1500 characters)
          A statement of what your project sets out to achieve and what is the intended impact.
    c. Brief description of your partnering VWO (field text of 1500 characters)
          Let us know about your partnering VWO and their specific needs that your project will strive to              meet.
    d. Project Description (field text of 2000 characters)
          Include details of the events, activities and programmes you are intending to execute or products          you want to sell.
    e. Project Mechanics (field text of 3000 characters)
          Let us know how the seed funding will be used in (ie. Buying of merchandize, publicity material)         and if any other funding will be involved. What are the targets in volunteer recruitment, public                awareness and amount of funds raised? Is your project sustainable (ie. Can be repeated over            the years?)
    f. Possible Challenges and Solution (field text of 1000 characters)
         What are some of the challenges that you foresee and how will you overcome them?
     
  3. Additional Attachments:
    a. Project Plan & Timeline (As external attachment)
    b. Financial Budget (As external attachment)

*The selection criteria may not be limited to the criteria mentioned above. The Selection and Awards Panel’s decision is final.

Important Notes: Sustainability of the projects or teams is greatly encouraged. Sustainability of projects refers to the ability of the project to be implemented beyond the Citi-YMCA Youth For Causes programme duration, where VWO can repeat the project with their own volunteers and resources to meet their organizational.
